Insula Quality World, archaeology, traditions, events and sport the menu of destination Sardinia
Insula 'Sardinia Quality World' is a network dedicated to the promotion of Sardinia as destination, told through the formula of experiential tourism and to the presentation, internationalisation and distributive development of the island's identity production chains. The project is the result of an agreement between the regional department for Tourism, Crafts and Commerce, together with Cipnes Gallura. Insula was thus created with the aim of telling the story of Sardinia through a formula of experiential, identity-based and sustainable tourism. Therefore not only for the sea, but through an integrated offer to discover the ''world of Sardinia'' with food and wine experiences, immersive tours of history, archaeology, nature, folklore, art and design. Insula has built a large promotional network of 4 and 5 star hotels connected to the regional marketing platform, which develops all thematic events in the hotels and coordinates the marketing and distribution of Sardinia's identity products.
This plan is divided into five platforms, starting with wine and food tourism, with vineyard tours and tastings of Sardinia's authentic wine production, along with the 'Paths of Pastoralism', which include a typical lunch with shepherds to discover the secrets of longevity and the Sardinian-Mediterranean diet. This is also where the topic of longevity comes in, with Sardinia included among the 'Blue zones' and the secrets of centenarians.
The second target is archaeological tourism, with experiential tours to discover Sardinia's millenary history amongst the archaeological fascination of the seven thousand nuraghi and the mystery of the Tombs of the Giants and the Giants of Mont'e Prama, the oldest full-length sculptures in the Mediterranean after the Egyptian ones. The third experiential platform includes art, fashion and popular traditions. A journey to discover the artistic productions of Sardinian masters: the coral of Alghero, the knives of Pattada, the multicoloured craft baskets of Castelsardo, the famous carpets of Mogoro, Aggius and Samugheo, the masks of Mamoiada. Then music and popular traditions and the great events linked to Sardinian history such as the Sartiglia, the Redentore and the Cavalcata Sarda.
Then there is the slow tourism and that of the religious walks, with the walk of Santu Jacu, Santa Barbara, 100 Towers and Sant'Efisio.
Finally, there is active and sports tourism, with a journey to discover nature trails including trekking, horse riding paths, biking and climbing. Moreover, we cannot forget the great open-air sporting events such as the 2023 Aquabike World Cup, the Rally Italia-Sardegna and the F1 of Motorboating.
